Microsoft’s SingleView Platform for Government

MicroLink and Microsoft have worked together to develop Single View Platform for Government. SingleView is an integrated platform of COTS technologies that we combined in response to federal agencies that have needs for better communication, collaboration, and decision-making. These three areas are crucial to government agencies that need to improve citizen services through increased communication, collaborate cross-agency and externally with stakeholders, to devise a clear direction and plan when responding to emergency and critical situations and to help decision makers answer the what, why, where, and how, of any scenario.

MicroLink was part of a Single View beta project at Custom Border Patrol where we helped them do a detailed analysis of agent productivity as measured by waiting times. Integrating Performance Point with geo-spatial visualization decision makers were able to locate via live feed the agent at each border entry, lane and stations.This data was then converted into a executive dashboard that gave an high-level view of operations at the border to a individual border agent capacity level. This component of Single View helped the Border Patrol increase the productivity of the border agents and helped Custom Border plan border agents operations more effectively.

MicroLink’s ability to integrate Microsoft’s technologies to develop solutions that improve the response of government is unparalleled. And with SingleView, we integrated a unique data driven geospatial presentation layer that allows agencies to “see into” the data. This ability to visualize data is a crucial part of Single View, especially for those areas of the government who are involved in defense,  logistics, transportation , law enforcement and disaster management.  It adds a 3-D element to business intelligence that allows the government to maximize the value of their data.
