MicroLink is led by a proven team of seasoned executives, successful entrepreneurs, and world-class engineers based in Vienna, Virginia.

David M. Truitt, President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Truitt is the founder of MicroLink, LLC and serves as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Since founding MicroLink in 1998, Mr. Truitt has worked to ensure that quality and service are top of mind for all MicroLink employees -- and that our customer relationships are well managed. As President and CEO, Mr. Truitt’s primary role and responsibilities include leading the areas of business development, finance, contracts, payroll and human resource administration. Mr. Truitt attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full football scholarship and graduated with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in economics and industrial relations. Mr. Truitt is very active in the technology community and participates in many conferences, panels and educational programs as a subject matter expert and entrepreneurial leader.

Timothy J. Wharton, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Wharton joined MicroLink in 1999 as a Principal. In this position, he is integral in defining and maintaining organizational strategy and operational effectiveness. Additionally, Mr. Wharton is directly responsible for the development of client relationships and partnership programs as well as internal operations. With more than 19 years of information technology consulting experience, Mr. Wharton’s complete understanding of the business arena has resulted in his ability to identify and meet the needs of our employees, clients and consultants. Prior to joining MicroLink, Mr. Wharton served in business development and operations management capacities with a large government IT consulting company. Mr. Wharton holds a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Bob Truitt, Senior Vice President, Business Development. Mr. Truitt has more than 38 years experience in the Information Technology Consulting industry. During this time, he has held a variety of management and senior management positions in operations, program management, administration and business development including Vice President, Booz, Allan and Hamilton; Director, Statistica, Inc.; and Senior Vice President, Base Technologies, Inc. Mr. Truitt currently oversees MicroLink’s proposal development activities. During his career, Mr. Truitt has led a wide variety of information technology projects for Federal, State, Local and Commercial clients .He has participated in and directed projects in various commercial industries, and for the Departments of Veterans Affairs, State, Agriculture, HHS, Justice, and Labor, plus NASA, the US Postal Service, the Secret Service and the Social Security Administration. Mr. Truitt holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

John Cronin, Senior Vice President, Government Sales. Mr. Cronin has a 25 year track record of success selling mission critical technology solutions in commercial, government, and organizational sectors. He has been instrumental in creating sales and marketing strategies at MicroLink based on the company’s ability to provide the best information technology and resources; attract the best IT professionals; and promote the best practices in the industry. Mr. Cronin provides strategic sales planning, marketing, and business development by identifying and implementing strategic alliances, third-party partnerships as well as coordinating corporate marketing, public relations and advertising programs. Mr. Cronin holds a BS degree in applied mathematics.

Jose Colon, Senior Vice President, Commercial Solutions. Mr. Colon has more than 20 years experience in providing customized technical solutions delivery to public sector clients. He has built solutions for Fortune 500 companies in the financial, energy, legal, entertainment, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical markets. Mr. Colon’s career includes full text search integration using Verity technology as well as online transaction processing technology used to drive funds transfer systems (primarily clearing of trades with the Federal Reserve Bank). Currently Mr. Colon serves on the Board of Directors for the Irvington Education Foundation which raises funds to provide supplemental arts and sciences grants. Mr. Colon holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Columbia College of Columbia University in the City of New York. While on campus, he co-founded the first NAACP chapter at the university. Additionally, he participated in post-graduate Chemistry research resulting in his being a contributor to several published articles.

Robert P. Harokopus, Senior Vice President, Delivery. Mr. Harokopus has been leading and participating in the development of mission-critical software for more than 20 years. He has been in the forefront of extending mission critical information access to platform independent web-browsers and pioneered technology for web-enabling enterprise-wide information/business process management and repositories. Mr. Harokopus co-authored Hierarchical Fault Detection and Isolation Strategy for the VAX 9000 System for the Digital Technical Journal (Fall 1990). At MicroLink, he manages various teams of professionals providing software solutions to government and commercial enterprises. Mr. Harokopus has served as Director of Engineering for NexTone Communications; Senior Manager at Hughes Network Systems; and Principal Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Harokopus holds an MS degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University and BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Alan Rizek, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Rizek has more than 16 years of financial management experience in various financial management capacities. He has overall responsibility for the MicroLink’s finance and accounting operations, financial policies, budget formulation and execution, and internal review. In addition, Mr. Rizek is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and integrity of the Department’s accounting and financial data and for providing accounting and financial support to programmatic and departmental personnel. At FINCA International, Mr. Rizek oversaw program and grant financial management for a multinational micro-finance NGO operating in 21 developing countries and the United States. As the Senior Financial Consultant, he provided accounting solutions and computer system design of Deltek’s Costpoint accounting and project management software implementation. Alan is a graduate of Virginia Tech and a member of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department.

Malcolm Hyson, Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Hyson is responsible for the development and implementation of feature rich, dynamically-searchable software products. With more than 16 years experience, he has successfully planned, coordinated and managed large-scale information technology projects and programs. Mr. Hyson’s work with global integrators has given him tremendous insight and perspective—helping him earn the respect his colleagues and information technology executives. Mr. Hyson received a B.S. in Computer Science from George Mason University.

Heather B. Jones, Vice President. Ms. Jones joined MicroLink in 2000 to manage the recruiting staff and has recently been promoted to Vice President. In this role, she has optimized the development of people with technical or highly specialized skills resulting in the firm’s ability to augment staff globally or regionally in client support. Additionally, Ms. Jones has identified critical skill sets to ensure the right skills are available when needed by the business. With her promotion, Ms. Jones has taken on the task of corporate communication. Her efforts are focused towards creating and managing a corporate communications program to facilitate employee, contractor, and client satisfaction. Ms. Jones holds MA degree in Psychological Services from Marymount University and a BS in Psychology from Virginia Tech.

Jim Ferguson, Vice President, Corporate Development. Mr. Ferguson has primary responsibility for the on-going development and execution of MicroLink’s strategic solution strategy.  This strategy ensures that MicroLink remains focused on delivering value to its clients through delivering innovative solutions that address mission critical challenges while maximizing their existing IT investments.  Mr. Ferguson has a long history as a problem solver, first during his 20 year career in the US Army and subsequently during his tenure as Microsoft’s Federal Director of Solutions and Technology. Mr. Ferguson holds MS degree in Operations Research and Statistics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BS in Engineering, from the United States Military Academy.
